If There Is A Heaven (By: Simeon Young Sr.)
Either heaven is real or Jesus led Hid followers with lies. If heaven is a hoax, then it is
the biggest hoax ever perpetrated upon mankind. If there is no heaven, then the Bible is not true and Jesus was a deceiver. If heaven is not
the hope of humanity, then the human race has no hope whatsoever.
The talk show co-host asked his partner, "If there is a heaven, what would you want to be asked as you walk
through the door of heaven?" His partner said, "Smoking or non-smoking?" The question
was a lame attempt at humor and to fill airtime. The men were having fun at the expense of God,
the Bible, and Christians.
Their sacrilege got me to thinking about the reality of heaven.
The title of this article reflects no personal doubts about the reality of heaven. Instead,
I use it as tactic to get the attention of all who live as though there is no heaven. Practical atheists live as though God
does not exist. A practical
atheist may verbally affirm the existence of God yet live in a manner that denies His existence. If I really believe there is a
God, my behavior will reflect it. Otherwise, i am a practical atheist, regardless of what I say.
The same is true when it comes to the claiming that I believe in the existence of heaven.
Jesus said, "In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepae a place
for you" (John 14:2). Jesus was saying, "I'm not leading you on with false hopes and promises."
Either heaven is real or Jesus led His followers with lies. If heaven is a hoax, then it is the biggest hoax ever perpetrated upon mankind. If there is no
heaven, then the Bible is not true and Jesus was a deceiver. If heaven is not the hope of humanity, then the human race
has no hope whatsoever.
I am "held in the grip of His promise." I am held in the grip of the promise that heaven is a prepared place for prepared people. I am held in the grip of Jesus promise that in His Father's house
are many mansions. I am held in the grip of the promise that He went away to prepare a place for me. I am held in the grip
of the promise that He si coming again to receive me unto Himself. I am held in the grip of the promise
that where He is, there I may be also.
peter said, "There shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts, and saying, Where
is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation" (II Peter 3:3-4).
What if the scoffers are wrong? What if the rapture is real? Waht if everything the prophetic
Word says about the Second Coming is true? What if the Lord Himself does descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the
trump of God? What if the dead in Christ do rise first? What if all the living saints are caught up together with the dead
in Christ do rise first? What if all the living saints are caught up together with the dead in Christ in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air?
What if the Son of man comes in an hour when we think not? What if the coming of the son of man is like lightning coming out of the east and shining unto the west?
If the rapture is real, are you ready right now? At this moment? What if Jesus comes when two people are working side by side, and one is taken and the other is left? And what if the one left behind is you? What if when Jesus
comes you are among millions who cry for the mountains to fall on them to hide them from His face? What if you put off getting serious about living for God until it is too late?
What if youa re like the five foolish virgins who did not have enough oil to last them until the bridegroom came? What if there is a heaven and you
never go there?
There are no ifs when it comes to the reality of heaven. And there will be no seat-selection opportunities in heaven. But you can decide now
that you will spend eternity in heaven.
